Imagine the scene - you spend weeks picking out the perfect dress for one of the biggest nights on the fashion calendar. You wow on the red carpet. You win an award. And as you go to pick it up - someone stands on your perfectly ruffled gown and rips it.
As Chloe Sevigny stepped up on stage last night to collect her award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (for her part in Big Love), the usher who had escorted her up the steps trod on her stunning Valentino gown, tearing it in the process.
And to add insult to injury the producers of the show spelt Chloe's name wrong as she ran through her acceptance speech.
