The bold new look is a little bit futuristic (remember the fringes at YSL's a/w 08 show), meets hippy-chic, a la seventies supermodel Penelope Tree - and a complete style 180 from the usually gently tousled Knightley.
Keira was at Paris Couture on the invitation of Karl Lagerfeld, the man who cast her as the current face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle perfume after Kate Moss relinquished the role.
However Keira's new look didn't reflect how Chanel's models paraded catwalk this afternoon. They were resplendent in varying origami headbands crafted from black and white paper, twigs and butterflies.
Apparently paper is Mr Lagerfeld's latest obsession. Can we expect paper dresses at Chanel ready-to-wear in Paris come March? How very recession friendly!
