It seems Gwyneth is a girl after our own hearts, she believes in detoxing while you eat and will not be surviving solely on a diet of lemons and water for the next week in order to drop a few pounds.
Her detox rules are simple and easy. She says the key to a good detox is to stimulate the liver, the body's own detox organ. So every night before bed Ms Paltrow will be swallowing 2 tablespoons of olive oil to get her liver going.
She'll also be downing half a cup of castor oil if all that olive oil and her healthy detox menu doesn't get her bowels moving this week. For GP the key to detoxing is to expel anything bad from the body.
She therefore also advises flushing out as many toxins as possible through the skin. This means sweating is vital, but if you don't think you can quite manage to get back to the gym this week Gwyneth assures us hitting the sauna works just as well.
Finally, the bit we love the most; keep eating. 'The body need nutrients to detox', she says and urges the switch to organic, whole foods for maximum goodness.
To do this, Gwyneth will be feasting on organic grilled fish and chicken, steamed vegetables, salads, brown rice, nuts, herbal teas, and soups, including her own recipe broccoli and rocket detox soup.
At last a detox menu we can finally enjoy.
