The new faces of fashion for spring/summer 08

"A lot of people are using the old girls again!" she recently told fashion industry bible WWD. And she's right.

This season sees the return of many familiar faces - fronting campaigns for everyone from Chanel to Valentino. The original 90s supermodels (Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and of course Eva) are having a moment, as designers have chosen their iconic faces (and bodies) for their new ads.

Claudia front's Chanel's 'From Here to Eternity' inspired ads, while a gaggle of supermodels star in Valentino's new campaign, showcasing his last collection. At Louis Vuitton, Eva, Naomi and Claudia, all parade Marc Jacobs' controversial collection beautifully, and Kate Moss, well she's sexy and sultry for Donna Karan in Mert and Marcus' sizzling new shots, while super cool in a grey marl, cocktail dress for YSL.

And for those designers who couldn't snag a super, they called upon celebrity friends to add a little star power to their campaigns.

Calvin Klein jeans have added Kate Bosworth to their iconic roll call of jean genies, previously Kate Moss and Brooke Shields have starred in their legendary ads. While Nicholas Ghesquiere has signed up his Oscar winning pal and muse Jennifer Connelly to star in his new Balenciaga campaign. And the most headline grabbing celeb signing of them all for spring / summer 08 has to be Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs. The cheeky ads, shot in New York by Juergen Teller, see Posh emerging from Marc Jacobs carrier bags and shoe boxes - which Jacobs insists are supposed to be ironic.

Charging the way for the twenty-first century are fashion's brightest stars, Agyness Deyn, in her third season fronting Burberry, and Suvi Koponen (the Finnish beauty who opened Balenciaga's autumn/winter 07 show) who is front and centre for Blumarine.
