Cate Blanchett (pictured) has been nominated for two Oscars, best actress for Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and best supporting actress for her portrayal of Bob Dylan in I'm Not There. She usually wears Armani Prive for the red carpet, and though heavily pregnant we're sure Mr Armani will have something beautiful for her to wear.
She's up against Marion Cotillard for best actress for her role playing Edith Piaff in la Vie en Rose (she won the Golden Globe for this last week) as well as veteran French actress Julie Christie for Away from Her, Laura Linney for The Savages and Ellen Page for Juno. While supporting actress nominations also went to unknown Ruby Dee, for American Gangster, Saoirse Ronan for Atonement (she's only 13), Amy Ryan for Gone Baby Gone and Tilda Swinton for Michael Clayton.
British film Atonement was also nominated for Best film, and we're expect Keira Knightley, despite missing out on an Oscar nod, to be flying the flag for British fashion and style on the night!
