It's the quintissential fashion meets music event and brought out more stars than the Oscars. Though, despite all the Hollywood glamour and rock industry cool, there were some typically British touches, like Stella Mccartney's models playing musical chairs, and a few bonkers mishaps that you probably needed a British sense of humour to appreciate, like when Lily Allen was called Lily Cole (we wouldn't complain!) and a bit of the stage collapsed.
But of course the fashion made up for all of this! In case you don't know, let us fill you in, this is how it works. Various top recording artists team up with a chosen international fashion house and whilst performing one of their many hit records live on stage, models parade the label's latest collection. It's the ultimate catwalk show. So, for example whilst Beth Ditto belted out 'standing in the way of control' she wore Christopher Kane, and models catwalked around her in Kane's designs. Infact Kane and Ditto also hosted a rather raucaus after party together last night at a very un rock and roll 10.30ish, though to this Beth actually wore a Mulberry dress by Julie Verhoeven. (Are you keeping up !)
Some of our other fashion highlights included the glorious paring of Moloko's Roisin Murphy with Gucci. She arrived with the label's Creative Director Frida Gianini (pictured above) in this seasons ultimate goddess gown; Kate Moss in the Swarovski incrusted flapper dress she designed herself, which is now being auctioned off for charity and hostess with the mostess Uma Thurman, who co-presented the night with Samuel L Jackson, in an extremely revealling tulle gown (very next season) which left nothing to the imagination! All in all an amazing night was had by all!
