6 Times Meghan Markle Dressed Exactly Like Victoria Beckham

Whether it's true or not that Victoria Beckam has been giving Meghan Markle styling tips, we can certainly see a few very striking similarities between their two wardrobes. Although Beckham has a tendency to go bolder and brighter at times, and Markle more often plays it safe with colour, they both have the same polished but not-too-polished aesthetic.
Here, we break down the key pieces they both consistently turn to.
Wide-leg trousers
Markle has worn tailored wide-leg trousers on two official occasions since she became engaged to Prince Harry – and that's quite a lot considering she has only attended a handful of events. They are smart and grown-up, but feel younger and more trend-led than chinos or a tailored skirt.
Beckham is a huge fan of the style too. Not only do they consistently appear in her collections but she has worn them in practically every colour, always styled with a crisp shirt or perfect knitwear.
Back-to-basics knitwear
Speaking of great knitwear, both Markle and Beckham have a very versatile jumper that they keep in their wardrobes and bring out time and time again – the basic black polo neck. Teamed with skirts, trousers and jeans, both women know the power of the capsule piece.
A great wool coat
Okay, they actually have several great wool coats, but each one is proof that a workwear ensemble can be totally transformed with the right outerwear. Take your cue from both Beckham and Markle and ensure that a a smart, chic coat is your key investment piece each winter.
A messy updo
It's very rare to see a royal without a perfect blow dry, but Markle has embraced that 'I just threw it up' style on a few occasions and it's a look that Beckham is always wearing too. The messy updo is chic but not too polished – a very wearable style that we plan to adopt immediately.
Dressed-up denim
Both Beckham and Markle are professional women who consistently have to dress smart, but that doesn't mean they are afraid of denim. At the Invictus Games last year (her first public outing with Prince Harry – and therefore, an important one), Markle dressed up slightly ripped, skinny jeans with a simple white shirt and pumps. Similarly, when Beckham took her bow at the end of her show last September, she opted for a simple white T-shirt and straight-leg jeans, smartened up with a colourful court.
The trouser suit
Although their wardrobes have a feminine edge, Markle and Beckham both know the potential of a great trouser suit. Markle, for her first red-carpet event as a future royal, chose this classic Alexander McQueen tuxedo and teamed it with sharp court shoes. Beckham too has worn tailored trouser suits on plenty of occasions in recent years, including at the 2015 British Fashion Awards.
