Spice Girls reunite for Viva Forever launch

All five Spice Girls convened at St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, where they filmed the video for breakthrough song Wannabe in 1996, to introduce the West End production.

Although it was rumoured that Victoria Beckham might miss the official launch, the designer tweeted about her excitement in the hours leading up to the event. ‘Went for the black dress!!sunny day in London,so nice being home!!! X vb’, she wrote.

Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton also shared their pre-launch anticipation via Twitter.

Launch materials promised that Viva Forever will follow a girl named Viva who achieves fame after appearing on a reality show. And since show creators know what the people want, Spice-y classics are sure to pepper the dialogue.

Absolutely Fabulous co-creator Jennifer Saunders, who wrote the musical, and producer Judy Craymer joined the fab five at the event.
