Kate attended a preview of Lucien Freud Portraits, an exhibition of more than 100 paintings by the late artist.
She wore a full-skirted grey coatdress with a portrait collar from Jesire to the event on Wednesday evening. Kate toured through the exhibition and exchanged pleasantries with Esther and Bella Freud, two of the artists children.
It may not be long before Kates portrait hangs in one of the galleries she explored. Also yesterday, a Clarence House representative said that Kate agreed to pose for a portrait, as requested by the NPG.
The Duchess is happy to do it sometime in the future, the spokesperson told the Press Association. There havent been any decisions about who the artist will be. This is being discussed.
NPG Director Sandy Nairne told the Evening Standard that the Duchess, who studied art history at St Andrews University, had started a discussion about her portrait.
It will be at least the summer before theres anything concrete and we can start to look for an artist, he said.More
