Paltrow asked nutritionists, osteopaths and pharmacists for their top tips before proposing some of her favourite cures. The experts pretty much said, ‘Drink more water’, along with a few left-field prescriptions like ‘eat one or two Umeboshi Plums’ and ‘take my OZ Brain Enhancement Sticks.’

We prefer Paltrow’s methods. In the post on her Goop blog, she endorsed hot and cold spa treatments, an anti-hangover drink called Mercy (so good she invested), and good ol’ hair of the dog.

‘Perhaps the least healthy choice, but sometimes unavoidable—at times, just a little of last night’s poison does the trick,’ she wrote, before divulging her recipes for classic and Mexican versions of the Bloody Mary.
