The rapper-turned-designer threw a party for his DW label at Londons Embassy nightclub last week. The Sun said West was telling anybody who would listen that hes looking forward to returning to the city on a more permanent basis in the New Year.
He went home for the holidays but was proclaiming that he is now based in the capital and would return in early January, a source apparently told the paper.
West has sought guidance and mentoring from London fashion industry lights, namely Central Saint Martins professor Louise Wilson. She introduced him to Louise Goldin and Katie Eary, who reportedly collaborated on the rappers debut fashion collection. West also made a donation to CSM and retained the services of its students as interns ahead of his Paris Fashion Week show in October.
When we ran into West at Earys small-scale London Fashion Week presentation, he took pains to ensure that his presence didnt draw focus from Earys work. High-profile support for emerging designers could only be a good thing. And more West gigs in London? That would be okay tooMore
