By way of background, Love moved into the four-storey West Village home ten months ago and pays $27,000 per month in rent. One of the lease stipulations was that Love wouldnt alter any aspects of the interior, which featured hand-painted and glazed walls put in place by a previous owner, a prominent decorator.
Ten months later, Love is facing eviction and an expensive lawsuit forwhats that?altering the interiors.
The landlords lawyer said that Love, along with falling $54,000 behind in rent payments, [h]as taken a historical house done by a recognized designer, and has taken upon herself to redecorate it. It is tantamount to destroying a work of art.
So Love gave XOJane.com a tour of the home, ostensibly to prove that she has good taste. She answers the door wearing Chanel, intersperses antique furnishings with Damien Hirst originals, and uses vintage lace dresses as decorative elements. The offending 'damask wallpaper and ice-blue paint' are in evidence. So are a number of other Love-specific features, like family photos and a delightful mantra-board ('I, Courtney, see hear feel & know that the purpose of my life is to elevate and enlighten others, have a really good time, be honorable in all that I do, have absolute integrity, bring LOVE to every situation I am in, & to win!').
Take a look at the full tour here. Keeping in mind that we have yet to see photos of the home in its pre-Courtney-fied state, what do you thinkhas Love ruined a landmark?More
