Hundreds of screaming fans greeted Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner at the Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, some of whom had camped out for days to catch a glimpse of the on and off-screen couple.
Stewart braved the chilly night in a Roberto Cavalli long beaded black gown accessorised with an Alexander McQueen belt and Jimmy Choo platforms which she alternated with Nike trainers. The boys Pattinson, Lautner and Jamie Campbell-Bower kept the side up in Emporio Armani suits.
ELLEs acting editor Jennifer Dickinson was at the premiere with them: Kristen and Robert were kept well apart on the (acres of) red carpet, only meeting up for the official introduction. The crowds were incredible, I actually felt pretty overwhelmed at one point. There were people there who'd waited three days to see them and the stars did their best, signing autographs and posing for pictures for over an hour. Rob, perhaps, looked most uncomfortable with it, but still complied with good grace in the face of what looked like a frankly terrifying experience.
Kristen really seems to have got the hang of it and was smiling and easy going despite the fact she must have been freezing in that dress.
