From Kate Moss and Jamie Hinces pastoral extravaganza to Mark Ronson and Josephine de la Baumes Provencal feast, it was a truly stellar season. And the final fling the Indian summer, you might say, of four months of rockstar nuptials was Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevalls registry office wedding, held in Londons Marylebone this weekend.
Stella McCartney clearly hasnt had much time to rest between her Paris show and the wedding, as the dutiful daughter designed not only the bridal dress but also the Grooms suit, the bridesmaids dresses and her own monochromatic dress. Nancy Shevall looked radiant in a demure knee-length dress in off-white silk crepe, with covered buttons down the front and on the cuffs, while the Beatle himself wore a razor sharp inky-hued suit with a suitably mod skinny tie.
The visibly jubilant couple posed for photos before the small but glamorous troupe of about 30 guests decamped to Sir Paul and Nancys North London home to enjoy a vegetarian banquet and live music - including a few songs performed by the groom himself. Fellow rockstar Ronnie Wood was there to keep the dancefloor lively, along with Kate Moss, Sam Taylor Wood, Tracey Emin, Josephine de la Baume and Mark Ronson, who carried his DJ equipment with him in a fetching leather holdall. He kept the dancefloor going until the respectable time of 3.30am - it's still rock n'roll, just a bit grown-up.More
