Introducing Michelle as Marilyn

The film, already tipped for Oscar glory and a staple of autumn must-see lists, stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe. Based on the memoirs of Colin Clark, the film follows the troubled starlet during a week-long recess from the filming of The Prince and the Showgirl.

The first glimpse of the trailer suggests that Williams will be fittingly captivating as the troubled starlet. From the public, saucy Marilyn to the private, despairing Norma Jean, the actress’s expressions careen from revelling in her position to total despondency—and this is just the trailer.

The film also features Eddie Redmayne as Clark and Kenneth Branagh as Prince co-star Lawrence Olivier. ELLE cover star Emma Watson, Dominic Cooper and Judi Dench round out the cast.
