Venice Film Festival kicks off with Clooney film
A series of starlets swirled down the red carpet in dramatic gowns to mark the start of the Venice Film Festival on Wednesday evening.

Diane Kruger wore a gold-embroidered cream tulle gown by Elie Saab to the premiere of George Clooneys political film The Ides of March.
Joining her on the red carpet was Marisa Tomei in long-sleeved Marios Schwab, Cindy Crawford in a one-shouldered red gown from Roberto Cavalli, and Evan Rachel Wood in a silk shantung shirtdress by Alessandra Rich.
Man of the hour Clooney wore a Giorgio Armani tuxedo.
Madonna arrived in Venice today for the premiere of W.E., her film about the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson.
