The New York Times reported that Beyonce chose the French designers work over another designer at the last minute at the suggestion of her husband, Jay-Z.
But its not the first time that Beyonce has worn Vauthiers designs. The singer has approached visuals for her new album, 4, with a view to supporting young design talent. So she wears Vauthiers Swarovski-crystal-embroidered faux-fur stole for the cover image, and inside the fold-out liner notes, she wears hotpants by three-year-old brand Julien Fournié and a yellow mini-dress by Fashion Institute of Technology student Leah Rae.
For the albums deluxe edition, Beyonce wears a beaded dress by 27-year-old designer Maxime Simoens, as well as vintage Azzedine Alaïa.
It was important to Beyonce that the choice of clothing not be about the brand but about the quality of the work, her creative director, Jenke-Ahmed Tailly, told the Times.
Spectacular vocals, powerful performances, and an interest in supporting emerging designerscould we love her more?
