Don’t be surprised if Blue Ivy Carter is installed in the White House a few years from now.
Beyoncé has revealed that she tells her one-year-old daughter every day that she can be President when she grows up if she wants to be.
A small gesture, yes – especially, as Bey acknowledges, that Blue has no idea what she’s talking about – but it’s these baby steps towards women’s empowerment, if we all join together, that will make a big difference if Chime for Change, the charitable initiative founded by Gucci’s Frida Giannini, Beyoncé and Salma Hayek, has its way.
Indeed, just as the project launched with a a handful star names attached to it, it is now rapidly snowballing – Blake Lively, Halle Berry, Katy Perry, Evan Rachel Wood, Zoe Saldana, Jada Pinkett Smith and Olivia Wilde have all added their voices.
And that’s without us even mentioning the stellar set list (John Legend, Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine) confirmed to play at The Sound Of Change Live, the campaign’s high-profile concert set to take over London on 1 June.
