In her new film, The Bling Ring, Emma Watson plays Nicki, a superficial, rebellious teenager growing up in the vapid world of LA.
Along with a gaggle of willful, celebrity-obsessed cohorts, Nicki embarks on a crime spree targeting the rich and the famous.
Bling Ring is based on a true story of a group of fame-obsessed Hollywood teens who stole from celebrities including Rachel Bilson and Paris Hilton.
Directed by Oscar winner Sophia Coppola, the film is a darkly glamorous depiction of the perils of fame culture. A far cry from real life for Watson won the Trailblazer Award at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night.
