Stella Mccartney – Designer of the Year and Designer BrandStella McCartney has won not one but two awards at the British Fashion Awards this evening. The designer won both Designer of the Year and the Designer Brand awards after an incredible year which has included designing Team GB’s Olympic uniforms as well as two critically and commercially successful catwalk collections, worn by everyone from Cameron Diaz to Kylie Minogue.
Roksanda Ilincic – Red Carpet AwardBeating Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham and Alessandra Rich to this coveted award is a testament to the heights Roksanda Ilincic has now reached. A favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge as well as Hollywood stars Emma Stone and Emily Blunt, her bold use of colour and beautiful cut has seen her become a household name and go-to designer for red carpet dressing.
Erdem – New Establishment AwardThe New Establishment award, which was launched only last year, was awarded to British-Turkish designer Erdem Moralioğlu. Becoming a go-to label for occasionwear, Erdem counts Samantha Cameron, Emma Watson and Keira Knightley amongst his many fans, who return to the label again and again to wear his beautifully feminine and floral pieces.
J.W.Anderson – Emerging Talent – Ready-to-wearNorthern Irish designer J.W.Anderson has been a favourite of fashion followers ‘in the know’ for quite some time. A highlight of the London Fashion Week calendar, he bursting into the main stream this year with a capsule collaborative collection for Topshop, which saw the high streets dotted with pleated skirts and baseball jackets the country over.
