We spotted her first and now ELLE Sessions graduate Charli XCX will be releasing her first album, True Romance on April 15th.
To celebrate the 20-year olds exciting news, weve got Charlis exclusive SXSW tour diary.
Charlis SXSW highlights included playing at the star-studded Perez Hilton party and the Gorilla vs Bear/Hype Machine party. So far, so superstardom
We first handpicked Charli for ELLE Sessions back in December. And we knew we were onto something the Hertfordshire-born singer had supported Coldplay and Santigold on tour, racked up 2.5 million YouTube views, and more than 630 thousand plays on SoundCloud.
Now, shes barely got time to dry clean her enviable tour wardrobe before headlining three UK shows in London, Glasgow and Manchester, and then embarking on tours with Ellie Goulding across Europe and Marina and the Diamonds in USA.
Charli describes her sound as goth-pop which translates to electro-pop influcences with addictively moody overtones (think Gwen Stefani crossed with Kate Bush). Shes honed her music working with hotshot producers including Patrik Berger who has collaborated with Lana del Rey and Robyn and Ariel Reichstadt, whos worked with Usher and ELLE favourite Solange.
