At Coach's Spring Summer 2018 show during New York Fashion Week, Selena was of course front row and centre, not to mention showcasing a fresh-off-the-runway outfit. 

The collection's strapline, "A pretty little something on the New York street", could be perfect applied to Selena herself, not least because of her charming Americana outfit. And so it's official: the Wild West is making a comeback.

Add some kicky country-western flair to your own wardrobe with just a few nostalgic touches, whether it's multicoloured patchwork, glove-tanned leather or a buckle belt. Just leave the Stetson hat at home.

Who knew our wardrobes were missing a dinosaur sweater? Selena wore Rexy across her chest and hey presto, graphic motifs catapulted to the top of our must-haves.

As the A-lister demonstrates, a statement sweater gives you fashion as well as practicality, with a side order of fun. Selena tucked hers into a pair of high-waisted, frayed-edge jeans and added rose-tinted sunglasses for a playful spin on school-girl cool. 

Follow suit by layering your colour-block top over a white turtleneck—it's a perfect alternative to the ubiquitous cold-shoulder shirt, especially in this season of fluctuating temperatures. No jacket required.

If there's one essential every woman needs, it's the leather jacket. But forget playing it safe; this season, the hero staple gets an appliquéd update.

Just look to Selena who rocked the hell out of her embellished biker. Bedecked in lace patchwork, floral appliqué and rocker studs, as well as an Elvis patch, it screams "I'm with the band" (even if you're totally not).

Make like Selena and choose a slouchy silhouette worn over a floaty floral dress—it's a killer trick when you want to look the right amount of undone. Just be sure to shoulder robe for ultimate nonchalance.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: the world has gone nuts for all things pink. If this season's runways are anything to go by, the trend isn't going anywhere so it's little wonder the kitsch colour is a recurring theme in Selena's wardrobe.

Case in point: Gomez arrived at the Met Gala demonstrating that yes, you can adult in head-to-toe pink. Rather than Barbie brights, her dress is the perfect shade of blush, making for an outfit that's both elegant and fresh.

Stick to a dusty pale nude à la Selena and subvert the prettiness with a silver chain choker and clashing eyeshadow. Bonus points for the mini handbag too.

As the chill sets in, there's no better way to beat the gloom than with power blooms. We're not talking cute ditsy prints—the modern way to wear florals is with a gothic vibe and maximum attitude. 

Here Selena wore a spray of loud oversized florals set against a black canvas. Her statement jacket adds a punch to the pared-back look and, as with most of her wardrobe, we fully approve. 

For an autumn-appropriate outfit, team your dark florals with vintage denim or add moto boots and a leather backpack for extra edge.
