Oscars 2018 Shone Brightly With The Gleam Of Expensive Jewellery

All that glitters.

It will come as absolutely no surprise to you that the Oscars 2018 shone brightly with the glow of a thousand reflective surfaces.

Quite apart from the OTT, Beauty and the Beast-inspired stage - from which Jimmy Kimmel slated Harvey Weinstein and commended countless genuine talents - the flashbulbs also glinted repeatedly from the many, many millions of dollars' worth of jewellery, hanging from celebrity earlobes or draped around actresses' necks.

Nicole Kidman alone, for example, was wearing more than 84 carats of Harry Winston jewellery, which included Winston Cluster Diamond Chandelier Earrings, 23.52 carats, set in platinumand a 'Secret Cluster' Diamond Bracelet, 37.62 carats, also set in platinum.

Laura Dern complemented her Calvin Klein dress with these neat pendulum 'Mosaic' earrings from Atelier Swarovski's fine jewellery range, which comprised of Swarovski-created diamonds set in 18K white gold.

Emma Stone opted for something a little more vintage in feel, with Louis Vuitton art deco earrings.

Salma Hayek's entire Gucci look was an incredible combination of iridescent sequins and draped gemstones, but despite the showstopping dress, she didn't scrimp on the jewellery. For the Oscars 2018, Salma wore more than $4.2 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds, which included her 27.5 carats, set in platinum.

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot wowed in a Givenchy gown, but her look was significantly enhanced by her Tiffany & Co. necklace, a piece dubbed the 'blue ice' which comprises of 17 aquamarines of around 61 carats in total, plus over a thousand diamonds.

Ava Duvernay got her bling on as well, with no less than three epic John Hardy jewellery pieces including a pair of diamond drop earrings and two diamond rings.

A word must also be said for Mary J Blige's considerable earring game.

A firm fan-favourite, her two sets of chandelier earrings were dazzling to say the least and prompted some great tweets.
