Peaches Geldof has given birth to a second son, Phaedra.
The baby boy, a brother for one-year-old Astala, was delivered by Caesarian section on Wednesday. He shares his birthday with his late grandmother, Paula Yates. Astala was due on the same day last year but arrived early, on 18 April.
Although there has been no official announcement of the birth (and all is uncharacteristically quiet on the @peaches_g Twitter feed), a source tells The Sun that the whole family is ‘absolutely over the moon’.
In our December 2012 issue, the 24-year-old former wild child daughter of Sir Bob – who is married to musician Tom Cohen – spoke about her transformation from self-destructive teen to contented mother.
‘As soon [the nurse] put the jelly on my stomach, we saw this baby’s face looking up at us. Tom burst into tears, I burst into tears and then the nurse told me the due date – my mother’s birthday, 24 April, and I just knew this was a gift from her,' she told writer Louise Gannon.
‘I know this sounds cheesy but it really was like a Godly thing, like some sort of divine intervention, someone up there was saying, “You’ve endured all of this stuff in your life and now it is the time that your life is going to change, and really it can be good.”’
Congratulations, family Geldof-Cohen, from all at ELLE!
