The lens that will capture Prince George’s intimate christening ceremony tomorrow belongs to Hollywood photographer Jason Bell.
The Duchess – who is a patron of the National Portrait Gallery – is thought to have become aware of the Bell's photography through her work with the NPG, where Bell's portraits are part of the permanent collection.
Bell is known for his images of celebrities including – deep breath – Johnny Depp, Jessica Ennis, Scarlett Johannson, David Beckham, Pixie Geldof, Tom Ford and Sarah Burton (the woman who designed Kate’s wedding dress).

44-year-old Bell was thought to be William and Kate’s favoured choice to take the historic portraits all along, although three photographers were interviewed for the job.

We can't help but wonder if Kate's dad isn't a little disappointed he wasn't asked to reprise his role as official photographer, seeing as he did such a good job back in August
