Two dresses worn by Amy Winehouse, both due to be auctioned in aid of Winehouses charity later this year, have been stolen from the deceased singers Camden home.
The dressesan anchor-print cotton dress Winehouse wore for her marriage ceremony to Blake Fielder Civil, and a newsprint Moschino Cheap & Chic prom dress she wore for a performance on Later With Jools Hollandwere taken while conservators catalogued Winehouses belongings and prepared them for storage in light of the sale of the house, father Mitch Winehouse said.
The wedding dress was expected to raise £100,000 at an auction benefitting the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which supports vulnerable youth and educates young people about the effects of drug and alcohol abuse. Auctioneers expected the newsprint dress to attract £30,000.
Her wedding dress was only a little cotton thing, a hundred quid at best in the shops. Whoever nicked it realised its significance and knew it had an extra value, Mitch Winehouse told The Sun. Winehouse died in July 2011, aged 27.
