Looking for some bold, bright sweaters to liven up your winter wardrobe? Check out SIBLING, the cult men's knitwear label that's just branched out into womenswear.
Classic cashmere sweaters and cable knits have their very useful place in our wardrobes but when the weather takes a turn for the arctic we need something a touch more colourful and quirky to get us out of the house in the morning. Step up SIBLING, the London knitwear label earning itself a cult following among stylish men - and their even more fashion forward girlfriends.
SIBLING was launched back in 2009 by trio Sid Bryan, Cozette McCreery and Joe Bates, who decided that men’s jumpers needed a serious makeover. Using their extensive design experience - between them they've worked for Alexander McQeen, Lanvin, Giles Deacon, Bella Freud and Giles Deacon - they set about creating a knitwear collection that mixed classic shapes with eye-popping colours and cool motifs. The current collection features skulls, macabre illustrations and even a handful of sequins. These are sweaters with a sense of humour. Who knew twinsets for boys could be so cool?
It’s fair to say that you’re probably asking yourself at this stage why we’re introducing you to a brand that designs solely for men. Well, while we’re pretty keen on assimilating some of their masculine pieces into our wardrobes, we’re pleased to report that the trio has decided to treat their feminine fans. They’ve teamed up with high street giant Topshop to create a capsule collection of ladies pieces, SISTER by SIBLING,that has just hit stores - perfect for staying stylishly cosy this winter. There’s no word yet as to whether the label’s foray into womenswear will become a permanent fixture so stock up while you can at www.topshop.com.
