We were delighted to welcome Claire Barrow into the #ELLEfashioncupboard to show us her latest hand painted leather collection for s/s 2015. Her unique and inspiring aesthetic was captured on her latest leather work, showing a different side to youth culture and all the things that Claire loves. We caught up with her for a quickfire five questions.
1) What item would be in your fantasy fashion cupboard?
A huge wedding dress. A huge, meringue wedding dress… with LED lights.
2) If you weren’t an artist, what would you be?
A dancer. My sort of New Year's resolution is to take dances classes, like stage performance.
3) What is your biggest source of inspiration?
The world and what’s around us. You can reference art and fashion, but if it’s something that’s come out of your own head, it’s a lot more organic. That's how I prefer to work, rather than taking reference images.
4) The one fashion item you most want to buy now?
There's not one single item – at the moment I need new clothes and shoes and stuff for everyday. I like Prada.
5) What’s your motto?
Trust yourself and your instincts.
