This week the lovely Holly Fulton came into the #ELLEFashionCupboard – we caught up on plans for a/w 2015, and even had an peek at some of her most recent sketches. Her went down a storm in the BFC tent with easy geometric shapes and unique textures, so we're expecting even bigger things come February.

1)       What item would be in your fantasy fashion cupboard?

A piece of Jean Després jewellery. It’s something I would cherish for the rest of my life, a real investment piece.

2)       If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?

I was going to be a vet, but I am ridiculously sentimental and not that good at science, so I switched to art and design. We did a test at school that determined what job you were destined for, and my number one was fashion designer and my number two was auctioneer, so I think that is what I would be. If I wasn’t in fashion I would want an antiques business – I’m a massive hoarder.

3)       What is your biggest source of inspiration?

My family home. My mum used to work in publishing and then was an art librarian, and my dad was a town planner – and they both have a different eye for design. They have collected Scandinavian furniture and lots of other items since the 1960s. They are hoarders, that’s where I get it from. There is a wealth of things to see there.

4)       The one fashion item you most want to buy now?

I actually just bought the one thing I wanted: a pair of Christian Louboutin leopard-print loafers. I would say Christopher Kane is the designer I admire the most – I don’t have anything by him and I would love something. Support the Scottish talent!

5)       What’s your motto?

Treat everyone as you would like to be treated yourself.
