has won the inaugural award for best Red Carpet Designer at the ELLE Style Awards. It was presented to her by Naomie Harris.

Anyone who has seen that image of a glowing Kate Middleton striding out in a beautifully draped to-the-knee lilac shift by the Serbian-born, Hackney-based designer – on two separate occasions – will know exactly why ELLE is head-over-heels for Roksanda’s particular brand of femininity.

Her dresses grace premieres, parties and gala around the globe, and on some of its most recognisable women, too: Gwyneth Paltrow, Emma Watson, Lady Gaga, Keira Knightley and Florence Welch to name but a few.

ELLE’s fashion features director Rebecca Lowthorpe was particularly impressed by her 70s-inspired spring/summer 2013 collection, pronouncing it ‘supremely wearable modern art’.

‘There really isn't anyone to touch Roksanda in terms of eveningwear traction! Just about anyone that is anyone has worn her incredible dresses in the last year,’ she adds. ‘And the reason is that they are so damn flattering – those great splashes of block colour, the elegant proportion. When you see someone in a Roksanda dress they don't just look their very best, they look like they feel their very best.’

The ELLE style award joins the British Fashion Award 2012 in the same category in Roksanda’s trophy cabinet.
