The Blazer

An oversize blazer (steal one from your boyfriend now and get ahead of the game) could be the new hero piece of 2016. Wear with extra long shirt sleeves poking out, or layer over a sheer lace cocktail dress for evening.

The Thigh-High Split

It's all about the leg. Dresses were split to the high thigh, shorts were extra short and jeans were cropped to the ankle. Your legs will be the new erogenous zone next spring.

The Skinny Belt

There were plenty of clever styling tricks that we'll be adopting next year too: a skinny belt to cinch an oversize blazer, coat sleeves rolled-up extra high to reveal printed sleeves underneath and sleeveless grandpa knits layered over printed dresses.

The New Stripe?

Could polka dots be the new stripes? They were big and came printed on dresses, cropped trousers and a really great kimono-style gown that was cleverly belted to the side over an oversize white shirt.

The Retro Throwback

There were multiple 80's power-dressing references (those pin stripe blazers) as well as touches of the 1940's, in the form of pretty tea dresses and printed blouses, which worn underneath pastel knits and silky, embroidered bomber jackets.

Plus.... Everything You Need To Know About The Makeup

Hannah Murray and Anthony Turner collaboratively created a must-have new mood for Topshop Unique: Striking red lips and a slightly dishevelled eye - was what Hannah interpreted as 'debauched garden party'. It's Princess Margaret meets Courtney Love. Skin is fresh and pretty much perfect, to offset the 'next day eyes and lips'.

The key is the application: Topshop matte lip bullet in Boy Racer was applied with a brush, and the lived-in eye came courtesy of Chameleon Eyes in Shuffle The Cards all over lids. A dab of Vaseline on the cheeks finished it off.

For Anthony's hair all the girls had individual styles, so if a model came in channeling Debbie Harry, she would be his inspiration, if a girl was a bit Whitney Houston - Malaika Firth on this occasion - he would work with that.  He used L'Oreal Professional Pli to prep hair, then the full mousse to give it body, plus a lot of mythic oil on the ends. The idea was for it to feel very achievable.

This is a beautiful hair and makeup look that every girl can (and should) do. (@i_love_lipstick)
