Fabien Baron

Fabien Baron

You may not recognise him, but as one of the most iconic image makers in the industry, Fabien Baron has been making his mark on the world of fashion for over two decades. He began his career in Paris in 1982, working his way up through the ranks of a whole host of magazines before being appointed Creative Director of Harpers Bazaar in 1992. His partnership with Editor Liz Tilberis has become the stuff of legend and the work that he produced, easily recognised by its emphasis on typography, transformed the way that fashion was presented editorially. Currently the Artistic Director of French Vogue, he also has a number of other strings to his bow. His design agency, Baron & Baron, is renowned for producing cutting edge campaigns for the likes of Calvin Klein, Balenciaga and Miu Miu (check out their website, www.baron-baron.com, to see examples) and he even has a furniture line to his name. Oh, and let's not forget that he was the man responsible for Madonna's notorious Sex book. His long-term collaboration with Hugo Boss came to an end earlier this year amid speculation of demanding behaviour but Baron continues to be one of the most sought after creatives in the business.
