Meadham Kirchhoff
Over the past few years dynamic duo Benjamin Kirchhoff and Edward Meadham have steadily been earning themselves an ever-growing band of dedicated followers amongst fashion fans.
The Central Saint Martin graduates (Benjamin studied menswear and Edward studied womenswear) began they foray into the world of fashion design by joining forces post-graduation to launch a menswear label, Benjamin Kirchhoff. In 2005 they were chosen to show in Fashion East’s first MAN show, bringing them to the attention of a must impressed London fashion scene. In 2006, luckily for us, they decided to branch out into womenswear, showing first as part of the Fashion East show and, more recently, in one of the coveted New Generation slots.
One look at the beautiful cut of their tailoring is enough to see that their menswear experience informs their women’s collections, but that’s not to say that their look is anything but feminine. Full length Edwardian-style black skirts, elegantly draped dresses and a high-waisted pencil skirt and jacket combo that fits neatly into this season’s power dressing trend all feature in their most recent collection. And given that their signature look has a decidedly gothic feel we predict that, in season where the bad girl is set to rule, their autumn collection will be the most successful yet. At the very least fights are sure to break out over their must-have lace and chiffon shirt.
Meadham Kirchhoff is available at Browns.
