Celebrity stylists are few and far between – Rachel Zoe, of course, has embraced the limelight, Katie Grand is an easily recognisable face on the London fashion scene and most discerning fashionistas could spot Carine Roitfeld on a front row at twenty paces. But do you have a clue what master stylist Karl Templer looks like? We thought not. Trust us when we say that he is one of the powerhouses in the world of fashion. In the last ten years he’s had a stint as the Editor-in-Chief of Arena Homme Plus, dressed some of the worlds most beautiful celebrities and his glossy shoots frequently grace the pages, and more importantly covers, of Vogue Italia, V, and W to name but a few. He caused a stir this year with ‘Rehab’, shot by Steven Meisel for July’s Italian Vogue, featuring a series of beautiful models in Britney inspired poses – think head shaving, exciting cars with no underwear, dishevelled hair and week old eyeliner. He is probably best known, however for his work at Calvin Klein. Since Francisco Costa became womenswear designer five years ago Karl Templer has been his right hand man and soundboard, helping to streamline the look and feel of the brand, whether on the catwalk or in the campaigns, which he works on with art director Fabien Baron. Speaking of whom, rumours are currently circulating that the powerful pairing of Baron and Templar are heading to Gianfranco Ferre to work their magic and turn the brand into must-have. We can’t wait to see what they come up with…
