Competition what style means to me
Are you, like us searching for the perfect oversize knit this winter? Nothing too Miss Marple-ey, and no man made fibres that are going to bobble after three wears? Then look no fiurther than Lutz & Patmos, a knitwear label that has just landed at Matches in the UK. Designed by Tina Lutz, a German design graduate of Esmod in Paris and Marcia Patmos who studied fashion at Rhode Island, the New York based design duo bring designer sensibilities to traditional knitwear. Think volume and shape, usually reserved for tailored pieces, on oversize sweaters, belted cardi's and poncho's. It all makes for a directional collection you might expect from a catwalk label - that won't cost you half as much! For autumn winter 2007 they have also started using organic wool, and will be donating 10% of all profits to Al Gore's 'The Climate Project', fighting global warming. So, not only are their pieces bang on trend, any purchase will also do a little bit of good for the environment too. Another project the girls are quite proud of is a recent collaboration with Oscar nominated actress Julianne Moore. Moore paired up with the team to recreate one of her favourite, vintage cardigans that we hope will make it across the pond soon.
