Dover Street Market

Dover Street Market

If your idea of revolutionary retail starts and ends with the big three (Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Harrods) then you need to know about Dover Street Market - the retail space run by Comme des Garcons designer Rei Kawakubo and her husband Adrian Joffe. In just three years since the store opened, it has become a mecca for anyone fixated by fashion and style. Editors, stylists, fashion fanatics and those in the know all flock to Dover Street looking for inspiration, unique design or simply to soak up the store’s creative vibe.
Located in London’s Mayfair, just off Piccadilly, the market also works as a gallery space holding exhibitions and installations, as well as hosting short film competitions and design retrospectives such as the 25 year celebration of milliner Stephen Jones. The best bits? Designer concessions that feel more like art installations; Victorian taxidermy; a gilded birdcage changing room; hard to find collections such as TAO and Jens Laugesen; and the best of Givenchy and Galliano cherry picked for the fashion obsessed.
DSM is at 17- 18 Dover St, London, W1S 41T
