If it could be said that there was anything characteristic about ’s shows, it would be that she never stops surprising us. Yesterday's s/s 2015 show was no exception. And it wasn't the purple sand dune set-up or the thundering music – or, indeed, the clothes – that drew the biggest eyebrow raises – it was the models.

Australian model Gemma Ward opened the show, ending six years of retirement.

One of the biggest models of the Noughties, she hasn’t walked the shows since spring/summer 2008, after which she decided to take a break to focus on her family and her acting career. Thus followed a tough period during which Heath Ledger, her boyfriend at the time, died, and she shied away from the media glare.

Ward was first cast in a Prada show at 16 – now 26, she's had a baby and is looking back to her best. But is this a come back, or just part of the Prada illusion?

The same could be asked of Lara Stone, another Prada favourite who has also recently become a mother and made a rare catwalk appearance to close the show.

Bravo, Miuccia.
