Last night the nominees for the Council of Fashion Designers of America's annual awards were announced.
The awards, this year taking place on June 2nd in the Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, will be hosted by John Waters and will celebrate both the veterans and the newcomers of fashion.
No surprise that Marc Jacobs, who had his final collection with Louis Vuitton for its s/s 2014 collection, is nominated alongside Joseph Altuzarra and Alexander Wang for the Womenswear Designer of the Year award.
Thom Browne, Public School's Maxwell Osbourne and Dao-Yi Chow as well as Marcus Wainwright and David Neville (of Rag and Bone) are up to take Menswear Designer of the Year.
Alexander Wang is also nominated for Accessories Designer of the Year, fighting alongside Mary-Kate and Ashely Olsen for The Row, and Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler.
For the special honoress, ELLE Style awards presenter Tom Ford will accept the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, whilst Raf Simons is set to receive the International Award for his work with Dior.
Supporters of the fund, Swarovski Crystal, will honour the emerging talent; Creatures of the Wind's Shane Gabier and Chrisopher Peters, Rosie Assoulin and Wes Gordon are in the Womenswear category.
In Menswear we have Hood by Air's Shayne Oliver, Tim Coppens and Todd Snyder. Finally Marc Alary, Irene Neuwirth and Jennifer Fisher are up for Accessory designer.
