And yes, she was wearing again.
The actress tripped in her long, peplum-waisted Haute Couture gown as she made her way out of her car and on to the red carpet.
The Twitterverse was quick to speculate that it was all a prank.
Either way, beau Nicholas Hoult was quick to give her a hand up, and she brushed it off with typical good humour for the photographers - but, like all good award hosts, Ellen DeGeneres made a point of telling the entirety of the Hollywood audience packing out the 86th annual awards ceremony (not to mention the millions tuning in around the globe) what had happened.

'If you win tonight, I think we should bring you the Oscar,' she joked. 'I dont want to risk it.'
Fortunately-unfortunately for Jen, she missed out on winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (to the brilliant Lupita Nyong'o).
So there were no incidents on the stairs this year, at least.
