Helena Christensen is far beyond what you imagine a typical supermodel to be. When we meet her at London Fashion Week she is engaging, passionate and fun to speak to, with a surprising nine tattoos dotted all over her - ‘I just get inspired,’ she quips.

The campaign for her third collaboration with Triumph is romantic but beautifully dark, shot among twisted trees in dusky twilight. The location was scouted by Christensen herself in the north of Denmark. The shoot really creates the perfect atmosphere and mood for the collection, which was ‘inspired by the Nordic weather’.

The type of light that the shoot evoked leads smoothly onto one of Christensen’s major passions - her photography. She is currently working with Rika magazine, shooting inspiring and creative women including Pamela Love, Liv Tyler, Camilla Staerk. Another of her subjects is Lilly Mcmenamy, whose mother, Kristen was a great friend of Christensen’s when they worked in the industry together. Christensen explains what a nice moment it was shoot her friends daughter and could see so much of Kristen in her, to which Lilly candidly replied, ‘but my mum is crazy and I am not.’

‘I was probably one of the last people to take up digital and it was with a heavy heart,’ Christensen, who still loves shooting film and polaroids, admits. ‘The weirder the picture, the more it looks like art.’

Helena Christensen for Triumph SS14 collection is available from Fenwick of Bond Street and Fenwick.co.uk. Prices start from £55 for a hipster to £165 for a bodice, available in sizes eight to 16.
