Prabal Gurung and the streaker

The designer's response

These days fashion week barely exists unless someone’s stripping down and storming the runway. There was last season’s Dolce bum-flash, and the Nina Ricci ant-fur topless protest. And this season? Prabal Gurung’s carefull planned show was rudely interrupted by a man wearing a creatively put-together outfit of black dressing gown, leopard print thong, football socks, sneakers and a crown. He was swiftly removed from the catwalk by security – but not before gaining himself global notoriety.

‘What can you do?’ Gurung told WWD post-show. ‘Would I have liked it to be seamless? Yes. I hope he got his 15 seconds and I hope he got some pleasure out of it, I really do. And that's all I can ask for.’ And, proving that fashion has a sense of humour, the designer and his friends all turned up to his after party wearing crowns.

The prankster has been named as Ukranian actor, Vitali Sediuk, and he has form – he’s the brave soul who gave Madonna a bunch of hydrangeas, her most hated flowers, provoking a response that went viral.
