British Airways hooked up with Harrods to celebrate their new route between London and Johannesburg by hosting a unique in-flight runway.

Yesterday, 30,000 feet over the South African City, the aircraft was transformed into the longest runway in the sky to highlight the best of British.

The 200 on-board guests enjoyed a very special Champagne high tea (created specially by The Saxon and South Africa’s top chef, David Higgs) as the aisles were taken over by a curation of summer collections from Jenny Packham, Victoria Beckham, , Ralph & Russo and Temperley.

Shoes from Jimmy Choo and jewellery by Astley Clarke, Monica Vinader, Shaun Leane and Lara Bohinc completed the look.

‘Harrods is delighted to have partnered with British Airways, bringing together two iconic British brands, to create a spectacular event,’ said Michael Ward, Harrods Managing Director. ‘Celebrating the unique design of the A380, we were able to present the talent and creativity of our most respected British fashion designers.’
