As we all know, the British weather is very unpredictable. But, rain or sun (or both), there are some key guidelines that you should always follow when packing for a camping weekend away.

Here’s what you need to know...

The Dos

Layer up. It may be blazing sunshine at 12pm, but that wont necessarily be the case at 6pm. Either wrap a long-sleeved shirt around your waist, or put one in your bag for later.

Take a sensible bag. Rucksacks are very much back, so you can look chic while carrying your essentials in one fell swoop. But make sure the fastening at the back is secure; you don’t want to find out mid-dancing that everything is spilling onto the floor.

Make this your mantra: sunblock, sunblock, sunblock. You can still get sunburnt even on overcast days. Get a tinted moisturizer with a SPF factor included so you don’t get those raccoon eyes.

Invest in a rechargeable battery pack. At the end of a long day with countless selfies and instagrams in the bag and a whole weekend of more to follow, you’ll be glad that you did.

The Don’ts

Do not wear jumpsuits. One word: Portaloo. If it means you need to fully take it off, ditch it. You need to be in and out of there as quickly as possible, and having anything drag on the floor in those situations is never ideal.

Ditch the flip-flops/high heels. Unless you are in the VIP league of Kate Moss, you are going to have to go into the crowd, which automatically sends the odds of having your feet stepped on skyrocketing. Either of those shoe choices will not put you in the good books. Cover your toes, always - we recommend opting for a leather boot, high top trainers, or classic wellington.

Do not take or wear anything expensive. At the end of the day, you are there to enjoy yourself and the music. There is no need to pull out grandma’s earrings, or those new Céline sunglasses. Chances are, they won't make it back home again.
