British designer Katie Eary is collaborating with the high street retailer River Island for its SS14 Design Forum with a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas inspired collection.

The Royal College of Art graduate has seen her career go from strength to strength since 2008. In the past her design focus has predominately been menswear and she has famously worked closely with Kanye West. But in recent collections Eary has introduced womenswear and a penchant for print.

Of the collaboration Eary said, ‘My starting point was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Except in my story it wasn’t Johnny Depp, it was my muse (the strong woman) on a crazy hallucinatory journey through the desert. I then went on to design looks for her while she was on this journey. It all became very 'Tribal Dipped in Gold’’.

Due to be launched via a short film created and directed by film maker Kinga Birza at the Fash/on Film event at London Fashion Week next February, the products will land in store on February 17.

The 18-piece collection will feature animal prints in energetic colour ways found on flowing maxi dresses and skirts and swimwear, alongside bleached denim shorts and dip hem T-shirts. There will also be accessories including a heavily fringed suede bags and gold feather hooped earrings. Prices will range from £15- £120.
