If you follow Choupette on Twitter, you’ll know that she’s pretty eloquent for a cat.

Now, she’s given her first official interview, and she hasn’t held back when it comes to proclaiming her love for her owner, Karl Lagerfeld – who, you may remember (how could we forget?) has said he’d marry her if he could.

‘Him and me, it’s forever,’ she purred (presumably). ‘We leave the bourgeoisie formalities to the others.’

The pampered Siamese decided to talk to French magazine Gala, and the resulting feature – as translated by Expose – reveals she lives the kind of jet-set lifestyle most of us human folk can only dream of.

'He travels very rarely without me. In general, I'm with him when he travels, except if he is coming back on the same day. If not, I'm following him everywhere: Monte-Carlo, Ramatuelle, New York, Rome, Dallas, etc,’ she explains.

‘He refuses to go in countries with quarantine as he doesn't want us to be separated. I'm going more often to Rome and Monte-Carlo.

‘I am never alone... I can count on my Françoise and my Marjorie. From the first day, they took care of me with a lot of love and a complete devotion. I am cherished, cared, pampered and brushed as a princess!’

It’s not all play and no work, though – if you happen to be in Paris, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Beijing, Shanghai or Antwerp anytime soon, stop by the Karl Lagerfeld boutique for a glimpse of the first Choupette accessories range, which comprises everything from woolly hats to handbags. In the shape of cats. Meow.
