Tom Hiddleston, the poet

Recites Shakespeare for National Poetry Day

‘Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?’ intones a velvety-voiced Tom Hiddleston as he revives one of Shakespeare’s most iconic sonnets in an exclusive, charitable recital for National Poetry Day.

Fresh from taking on the mantle of interviewing his Thor co-star, Natalie Portman, for ELLE’s November cover interview, the eloquent British actor is set to melt the nation’s hearts with his note-perfect rendition of Sonnet 18, captured on video, below.

The recital will form part of new App ‘The Love Book’ – a collection of infamous love poems and letters as read by a cluster of British stars including Helena Bonham Carter, Damian Lewis, Helen McCrory and Gina Bellman – of which 10% of proceeds goes to Save the Children, benefitting children in the world’s poorest countries.
