A truly inspiring woman, Victoria Beckham has been named the UK’s most successful entrepreneur of 2014.
In a list compiled for business magazine Management Today, the former ELLE cover star pipped fellow designers Sir Paul Smith and Dame Vivienne Westwood to the top spot based on her strong sales, the number of jobs she has created and her estimated overall wealth.
After launching her fashion label in 2008, Victoria challenged preconceptions to transition from brooding pop star to reputable fashion designer, scooping Designer Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2011. She launched her sister label Victoria by Victoria Beckham in the same year, and just last month, the mother-of-four opened her first boutique in London's Dover Street.
Andrew Saunders, deputy editor at Management Today praised her design talent and ‘business nous’ - noting that, in just five years, the turnover of Victoria's fashion enterprise has risen from £1million to £30million.
In an interview with The Guardian last month, Victoria said: ‘First time around I felt famous, but now I feel successful’.
