The long list of fashion talent in the running for this year's H&M Design Award has been revealed.

This year's names to know?

Clara Jungman Malmquist, Laure Severac, Magdalena Brozda, Sarah Effenberger, Simone Schmidt Adrian, Elina Määttänen, Juyan Zhou, Francesca Reberschegg, Hiroshi Shintani, In Seo, Yumiko Sei, Youn-Chan Chung, Yiyu Chen, Andreas Ekelöf, Leonard Kocic, Charlotte Knowles, Graham Fan, James Kelly, Janni Turtiainen, Katherine Roberts-Wood, Fiona O’Neil, Andrea Jiapei Li, Peter Do and Ximon Lee.

The 24 aspiring designers were longlisted out of 37 fashion schools worldwide and are now officially in the running to win the prestigious award, established in 2012 to give burgeoning fashion talent a platform.

Only eight of them will make the cut to go through to the next round, where they'll show their collections to H&M's Creative Head of Design, Ann-Sofie Johansson, and a jury made up of yet-to-be-announced fashion insiders (last year's included Erdem and actress Michelle Dockery).

It's as nerve-wracking as it sounds, but worth it for eventual winner: they'll go home with a €50,000 prize, a collaboration with the Swedish retailer that goes in-store worldwide, and a catwalk show during Stockholm Fashion Week.

The capsule collection by this year’s winner, Eddy Anemian, went on sale in select H&M stores worldwide last week.
