As De La Soul once rightly told us, three is a magic number. And has clearly been paying attention – breaking the show status quo by adding an extra show to the calendar, which will be the brand's third (yup, THIRD) catwalk outing for the year. Not content with the usual couture schedule of January and July shows, the house will also head to New York in December with a new couture collection.
The show – timed to celebrate the opening of the label's Fifth Avenue store – comes less than a month before , and will feature entirely different pieces. We’re not sure whether to marvel more at the creations on the runway or the mind-boggling amount of work that’ll go into putting them there – especially when you figure in the ready-to-wear, pre-collections and menswear shows also on the house’s schedule. Blimey.
What’s more, the house will also be continuing its fashion roadshow in July 2015 by decamping its usual Paris couture show to Rome (to celebrate the opening of its store there, obvs). Seems it’s bye-bye to the traditional fashion calendar, then, and we’re all for it – when couture shows are as gorgeous as Valentino’s, how about we make them a weekly thing, eh guys?
