Louis Vuitton investing in its bags

Appoints the man behind the PS1

Changes afoot (or should that be a-hand?) at Louis Vuitton.

The house has appointed Darren Spaziani, former director of accessories design at Proenza Schouler (yes – he's the man responsible for the PS1) to spearhead the design of new ‘very high-end’ leather goods to ‘complement existing collections,’ WWD reports.

It’s something of a homecoming for the designer, who did a stint at the house between 2004 and 2006.

Delphine Arnault, Vuitton’s executive vice president, refers to Spaziani ‘one of the most talented designers of his generation’.

He is understood to be starting in his new role on 1 October, responsible for both men’s and women’s lines.
